I JUST REJECT YOUR HYPOTHESIS: 2024 REVIEW, PART 1
2024 Review Part 1. January to April, more or less. On The Making of Americans, Earth.org, internet monoculture, internet writing, My First Book, Tom Cohen, and so on.
THE MAKING OF AMERICANS
OK, Ottessa Moshfegh is poisoning the smoothies at Dimes Deli with nitrobenzene to corrode the minds of the avant-garde in the name of Ultra-Dense MegaCity Neo-Tribalism. Apparently Sierra Armor is, like, practicing Ecclesia Gnostica and going to Botswana on a missionary trip to spread the word next January. Kyle Brown told me that the Frost Children concert afterparty was secretly funded by by the Coalition for Blood-And-Soil Irony Preservation Society. Gay Wedding Technology and Deanna Havas are in some sort of Twisted Pornocratic Collapse Beatnik Armageddon Hippie Extinction Mimetic Entanglement. They are both so baby and doomed af.
The Ukraine has never been a nation. Message to E𝔄ℜTH: the relapse into Schiller here means ‘Dimes’ but who cares none of you are alive anyways. Message to E𝔄ℜTH: what the fuck happened to you bro. I have zero irony when I say I prefer extinction to these people taking over but whatever, ok? Message to Chaz 2.0 at Columbia: Acting retardio is like big corps saying wagmi to each other in 2022. Message to Tom Cohen: I loved it when Tarantino said ‘I just reject your hypothesis’ at Cannes when asked a question about not giving Margot Robbie enough lines.

how we all died on the internet—
In 2020 everyone said they were never going back. The panic around Honor Levy’s My First Book in early 2024 was a panic around how we said we would never go back—and then we did. We panicked because some of us had gone back without telling anyone else—like we never did get that civilizational memo, did we!?!! Tbt or not tbt, that was the question. Honor Levy’s My First Book came out around the same time Tom Cohen came to New York City for the angelicism seminar. Cohen imparted the powerful fragility of the manuscript of Ecocide and Inscription around the same time the angel of history was used as part of the pro-Palestinian encampments at University of Toronto. Fuck or marry—Ecocide and Inscription or My First Book? Message to females: the world closes off and my entire soul is sabotaged because at the end of the world it’s a comfort pretending to be a cunt (‘brat’). Message to all writers: realize you are post-posterior and be post-posterior and then stfu. Message to the relapser: at the end of time fashion becomes Hitler as Ye found out. Message to the exister: if there is forgiveness, it must be of the unforgivable. Message to the detractor: Hey I just meth u and this is crazy but here’s my crack pipe so call me maybe.

THE MAKING OF AMERICANS 1 (E𝔄ℜTH/Earth)
The easiest way of understanding The Making of Americans marathon reading in April 2024 was to understand the tense of the text, which was nothing but the American present. Again and again the text of the The Making of Americans marathon reading, which was the text of Gertrude Stein’s The Making of Americans, favored the living present and its complex echolocation in being. These two (living and being) make up the American present, restricted as it is to the living alone (a grammatical isolationism that only stands in for the universal), (and not the future extinct), put up on Walt John’s flag.
In other words, listen to the Earth livestream of the event and find there easily the echolocation of the American present as something like a faltering and faultless Universal presence of language, here on ‘Earth’—and yet in this case the Earth Livestream was also cosmically predicated on the tense and sense of isolation—the sense and senilities of exclusion and other scenes.
MISTAKISM AND EDUCATION
Remember when Harmony Korine said ‘mistakes are good’ and that ‘there is no such thing as a true mistake, only a more modern rethinking’? Maybe we can think of the angelicism dissolution seminar earlier this year not just as what Lola Jusidman called a ‘horror seminar’ but as what Korine might have called a ‘mistakist seminar’. We can’t imagine education of any kind, after all, without mistakes, without second thoughts.
We’re always forgetting and needing to start again. (‘I forget you so that I can forgive you’ is not really a thing that can be said for long.) Maybe nobody’s right about anything. The mistakes in an angelicism seminar are always going to be good mistakes. Mistakes, Korine says, are good. Like, imagine that thinking about extinction were itself a mistake but that one had to make that mistake to get somewhere else, into the dissolve. Is that what Lola was doing? It would be like trying to make the mistake sooner rather than later, but also it might be a good mistake in enabling ‘a more modern thinking’ . . . That’s what an ‘angelicism seminar’ would be.
The angelicism seminar ended with weeks of literal ‘doing nothing’. How could we have had a seminar about dissolution and doing nothing that doesn’t allow for actually doing nothing? The title of the seminar contained the words ‘school’s out’. We were trying to imagine a seminar situation that involved being able to relax.
I recommend as shortcut this post here which contains Sierra Armor and Jamieson Webster. Angelicism-era Sierra wrote about being scared of nothing. Is it scary to think there is nothing to teach, nothing to read? Why be scared to simply not read, not know? One could always arrive at a seminar and be like Ernesto in The Children and say: nothing is worth it. Or just nothing.
Here are Lola Archive’s X posts about nothing. Remember that ‘extinction’ is just one model among others. Perhaps it’s nothing.
THE TEMPTATION TO POST
The temptation to post: it comes round quick, like a ‘solution’ to something. I want to post, I think, and the adrenal surge begins. ‘When I hit post I’m going to feel all better’, posted Honor Levy on 17 August 2023. Not quite meaning it, of course—because she really was posting about posting, to say goodbye to the trenches. (My First Book causes a panic by waving goodbye to a scene. This time, kids, the internet really is over. But the panic was about having nowhere else to go, not even Red Scare.)

EVERYTHING IS CLEAR
Everything is clear. It does not need to be made clear. It does not need to be made clear because it never was unclear.
I THINK THE HISTORY OF HUMANITY
I think the history of humanity is the history of a misunderstanding of unity in which the haters who normally love ‘God’ and unity actually separate themselves out from those without God who would live for reconciliation if it weren’t for the others. The victorious ones are not the ones who came online and won forever but those who immerse themselves in authentic knowledge of the strong mind of loving open intelligence. There is only indestructible Goodness.
THE MAKING OF AMERICANS 2
American—or even Jewish American—acts like the present tense of the world, acts out the present tense of the world, shuts out the future and past dead by being the One Living, the only One Being Living in present being, and this is the making of the American (Zionist) present, which is also to say the American metaphysics of (Zionist) Being.
For example,
Any family living can be one being existing and some can remember something of some such thing.
Is there anything outside of this frame? Any living being at all can be one being existing, which is to say can be one being among others existing but also can be one living being existing where being and existing are the same thing, but if being and existing are the same thing then there is only being and existing and no outside, no exit, no off-screen spaces. This would be the stars and stripes of the absolute American present tense as a form of isolationist predication on a cosmic scale and any living being can enter and come in and cross the shore and come to America to be made in the same way and as the same image. Which is also to say the stars and stripes are the stars and s-tropes of American language ideology which also has no outside, the making of America being the making of a place that is the best and worst combined, the most evil and most interesting country on Earth, the finest and most barbaric of places, the one in the other and the one because of the other, like, for real, imagine watching movies in Los Angeles with Adorno during the Holocaust.
SERGE DANEY (THE MAKING OF AMERICANS 3)
Serge Daney once said that the cinema that Cahiers loved was a cinema that is haunted by writing. This was often an American cinema but most of all it was a cinema haunted by signs and not just symbols, by the spaces and spacings of writing, and also by off-screen spaces and different ways of playing with them. There is the off-screen space directed by the ear for example (the fundamental voice, the voice of the mother, the telephone voice, the voice of sound sex). This profound love for writing of the Cahiers critics can also be found in American conceptualism (for example Gertrude Stein at her most AI-like). The Making of Americans is obviously a text that mimics AI, plays it in advance, plays it to itself, acts like it, acts like it can, plays it back to itself, acts like it, acts like it can, and then presumes it can do even more than that, acts like it, acts like it can, and, finally, calls all that or all this the abstract voice of something like contemporary post-everything-AI-internet-conceptual-biothanatoextinctoautobiographical American literature like My First Book and/or Ecocide and Inscription. The question for the American present and for this kind of abstract (not in Michel Henry’s sense) linguistic U.S.A. expressionism that means literally like Honor Levy kind of left the internet behind or like Tom Cohen has literally like left theory and the humanities behind is whether it has any real off-screen spaces—and in this case the off-screen spaces would be off-tense spaces—like spaces for something that is not the American present or even the off-present presence of post-alt-lit-post-vibe-shift-post-Remilia writing spaces, since it’s the American present of a century still wanting to be part of a perhaps dying not-yet-Chinese American century, a perhaps last human American century that simply doesn’t allow what is beyond the end of the century, that denies the off-screen-off-tense-space of what lies beyond 2100 never mind 2200 or 2300 or 2400 or 2500 or 2600. These spaces, we can say, are felt to be profoundly unAmerican, something that every single American writer and artist must be unable to think or write or see, and this includes the American écriture that the Cahiers critics loved—though Daney says that the whole danger is of confusing ideology and writing, or ideology and inscription—
ON NATALITY: A RECENTLY REDISCOVERED TEXT ON TRUMP
Even as young man, always even now importantly androgynous, I find something beautiful about his lips. A friend of Roy Cohn, the completely closeted effete thug, I can’t help think Trump is homosexual without the need of being so. He makes of the world a mother, and camps it up with her. He feeds Twitter, recently hitting records of more than 130 tweets a day. Breast overkill. Excessive revolting evil cruel beautiful. Fertile sexy (sexily) presidentially thicc (chic?). I love the picture of him with a dove. It’s the opposite of Biden prodding a voter in the chest. It occurs to me that the problem with Trump and the public is not that he’s ‘toxically male’ but that he is a woman. (He stands, secretly, as a woman.)
Trump is perfectly scrollable, perfectly smooth. How come he’s eminently readable? Inversely, Biden has something like a smooth relation, a non-relation, with natality. And Trump, less pliantly smooth, feels like natality itself. Did I read somewhere on Twitter that someone felt ‘born’ in 2016? Like Kanye says, things only came out into the open then, and that’s a kind of natal ocean. So yeah, Trump is like an ocean, but masculine. Since oceanic natality is so dominant in him (his mother was absent and his brother killed himself, so he has to make one for himself), he has to act out as the father in a wavy feminine element. He’s something like a Proustian Grandma. A Manhattan Jabba the Hut.
There’s nothing compelling about men who are totally comfortable with their distance from natality.
THE INTERNET UNCONSCIOUS (THE MAKING OF AMERICANS 4)
No matter the internet monoculture to come, we can always remember that the internet, like the unconscious, has no sense of time:
Heisman says Hitler defeats Marxism at Auschwitz but does the CCP defeat biologico-nationalism at Mt Everest? Kanye West: Sino-Philic but in the Dzogchen not Hunter Biden sense. Lobsang Sangay: adopted by India, scribe, partitions the dispersed nation state with the Dalai Lama. Patrick Bateman: serial killer who believes there is a lot more important problems than Sri Lanka, anti-racist. Tao Lin: every time he comes to NYC his posting becomes more demented. Mitchell Heisman: being before race, life before lives, Tibetan. Steve Bannon: Tibetan revolutionary, trans-American (‘American Dharma’). Dalai Lama: wears golden chain on his head at awards ceremony, refuses to take off. Joe Biden: Hunter loaned billions by CCP, trans-Bannonian. Mitchell’s point is that the Jews, somewhat like black lives matter, cling to the principle of biologism (privileged lives) they are supposed to be against. Dzogchen simply says ‘all beings!’ and allows its country to vanish (nation state impermanence). The Tibetan stance is to accept defeat, deracination and a government in exile (Lobsang is in India), the opposite to the Jews after the war. The Tibetans as spiritual statists do not need a state, they fulfil in some ways Mitchell Heisman’s dream of letting go of nation rights. But Kanye’s position on China (‘I love China’) is diametrically opposed to Bannon’s war stance. Kanye is precisely Tibetan. The Dzogchen master imprisoned by the Chinese for 18 years, when asked what he feared most, answers ‘to lose compassion for the Chinese’. Even 9/11 was originally schematized as a chemical attack (a bit like Snakes on a Plane but w/ anthrax). All inner and outer attacks share the same ‘intelligence’ airspace. If Covid was a CIA attack on Trump routed over decades through a Chinese front, it would never be tracked. Fentanyl and Covid both theoretically originate in the same Wuhan location. With the shutdown the opiate supply into America through Mexico was severely limited, and buyers turned to the Golden Triangle and Russia instead. Fentanyl and Covid are ‘co-ordinates’ of whatever origin. You can only go so far as saying the anchor points of Covid will remain completely unknown. ‘Inside job’, ‘patsy’, ‘Dark Winter’ and ‘vibe shift’—the point is that intelligence works through laws of destinerrance that are now far beyond what happened with JFK and 9/11. Janus germ Gestell.
