A Note On 'Incitation'
I’m fine with the argument of ‘incitement’ used against Trump, as long as it is taken seriously, argued into law as a standard, and thought about as something that can be applied universally. Words do incite, more than we know. Words themselves are an incitement of extinction. Climate change has a literary structure, as Tom Cohen says. But if Trump’s words were, when read carefully, not as we are being told, then are we really talking about taking words seriously? Perhaps we are, and the evolutionary point is the confusion, or the extension. Perhaps the confusion is inciteful. And then, the word incitation takes extinction’s form.
